【摘要】:Thesepracticesprovidemeansofpreparingsmallquantitiesofresinsolution(insomeproceduresinaninertgasatmosphereusinguniform,controlledheating).Thispracticeprovidesquickwaystopreparearesinsolutionforqualitycontroltestingduringthemanufactureofresinsolutionsandvehicles.Samplescanusuallybepreparedinapproximately30to45minutesorless.Thesepracticescanbeusedtopreparecommonlyspecifiedinktestsolutionssuchas33.3%resininalkalirefinedlinseedoil,and50%resininheat-setinksolvent(thatis,C12toC16hydrocarbonpetroleumdistillatewithinitialboilingpoint(IBP)about470x00B0;F).1.1Thesepracticesdescribelaboratoryproceduresforpreparinganoil-basedinkresinsolutioninahigh-boilingsolventusingfourpiecesoflabequipment;(1)ahotoilbath(Sections4to11),(2)astirrer/hotplate(Sections12to16),(3)anindustrialblender(Sections17to22),and(4)ahotairgun(Sections23to27).ASTMSubcommitteeD01.37recommendsusingthehotoilbathprocedure(PracticeD5597)wherepossible.1.2Thesepracticesuselaboratoryequipmentgenerallyavailableinanormal,well-equippedlaboratory.1.3Oneorseveralofthesepracticesallowsforrapidresinsolutionpreparation(under30min,typical),canregulatethemaximumtemperature,canbedoneunderaninertatmosphere,andcanpreventtherandomsolventlossduringpreparation.1.4Theseproceduresareforusewithinkresinsintendedmainlyforoil-basedoffsetandletterpressinks.Thetypeofresinsaretypically,butnotlimitedtoC9aromatichydrocarbonresins,modifieddicyclopentadieneresins,rosinpentaerythritolorglycerineesters,phenolicmodifiedrosinesters,maleicanhydridemodifiedrosinesters,andnaturallyoccurringresinssuchasgilsonite.1.5ThetypicalhighboilingsolventstobeusedincludeC12toC16petroleumdistillates,2,2,4trimethyl1,3-pentanedioldi-isobutyrate,alkalirefinedlinseedoil,tridecylalcohol,orcombinationsoftheabove.1.6Toavoidfireorinjury,orboth,totheoperator,thesepracticesshouldnotbeusedwithlowflashpointsolventssuchastolueneorxylene.Theminimumflashpointofthesolventsusedshouldbe60176;C(140176;F)asdeterminedbyTestMethodD56.(Warning-Usersofthispracticeshouldbeawarethattheflashpointofmanysolventsusedforthistest(asdefinedinTestMethodsD56andD1310)isexceededintheheatingcycleofthistestmethod.Takesafetyprecautionssincethereisthepotentialforvaporignition.Dothemethodsoutlinedinashieldedexhausthood,wherethereisaccesstoafireextinguisherifneeded.)1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatementsee.
